Purpose and Objectives
MVLA is one of several sending offices for MV International. The focus of MVLA is to assist the Latin American Church of all denominations to participate in the great Commission.
Short-term trips are a short-term commitment that has a long-term affect!
The objective is two fold:
For the people that GO and the churches that SEND:
• To provide an opportunity for Christians in Latin America to go to other nations to share the love and good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
• To bring about an awareness that leads to action among Latin Americans as to the plight of the lost and hurting world.
• To create, develop, coordinate and administrate personal involvement in missions through teams, relationship, encouragement, prayer, funding, etc.
• To provide an accountable means of managing and administrating designated support to the mission field.
For the indigenous leadership that receives the teams:
• To facilitate the development of responsible indigenous Christian leadership through the establishment and expansion of Bible schools & leadership training conferences.
• To assist these Christian leaders in the planting of churches in un-reached areas.
• To enable these Christian leaders and churches to start ministries and outreach to their own people by means of feeding centers, orphanages, schools, clinics, etc.
Theological Statement of Faith and Action
• We stand on the Bible as the divinely inspired and authoritative Word of God.
• We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
• We proclaim that a Christian is a person who has come into the Salvation and Lordship of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born of virgin birth, lived a sinless live, performed miracles, died a vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, bodily rose from the dead and ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will personally return in power and glory.
• We rely on the convicting, guiding, empowering, equipping, indwelling presence and work of the Holy Spirit to bring us into a holy life and a ministry within the church and witness to the world.
• We teach that Christians will be resurrected along with the lost, yet saved unto the resurrection of life while they that are lost will be resurrected into eternal judgment.
• We see the church as the assembly, the community and the fellowship of all Christians united in Christ.
